Project Overview
Eshop is a full-featured e-commerce platform developed as a demo project to showcase the development of a complete online store and its supporting backend infrastructure. The project was built with Laravel, PHP, Blade, and MySQL, with the customer facing experience connected to a fully functional backend and custom administration system.
I designed and developed the administration system from scratch, creating a responsive interface that gives administrators centralized control over the major operations of the store. The platform covers the complete e-commerce workflow, from product and inventory management to customers, orders, payments, shipping, promotions, content, reviews, and system configuration.
My Role & Key Contributions
As the developer responsible for the backend and administration system, I built the core infrastructure that powers Eshop and connected the different parts of the platform into a functional e-commerce application.
- Built the Laravel backend and MySQL database architecture.
- Designed and developed the custom admin dashboard from scratch.
- Implemented authentication, OTP verification, password recovery, and role-based access control.
- Developed product, category, brand, attribute, inventory, order, customer, and review management.
- Built coupon, discount, shipping, and content management systems.
- Integrated Paystack and Flutterwave, including payment verification and transaction handling.
- Implemented SMTP configuration and automated email notifications.
- Developed admin management and permissions for different administrative roles.
- Connected the backend with the storefront and implemented the underlying e-commerce business logic.
- Built a responsive administration experience for desktop and mobile devices.
Purpose & Value
The purpose of Eshop was to demonstrate the ability to build a complete e-commerce system where the storefront and backend operations work together as one platform. The project goes beyond the customer-facing shopping experience by providing the infrastructure required to manage an online business efficiently.
My contribution added the backend functionality and management layer needed to operate the store, allowing administrators to manage products, inventory, customers, orders, payments, shipping, promotions, content, reviews, and other essential operations from a centralized dashboard.
